Gordon B. Morgan (1921-1994)

Gordon Morgan trained as a pilot for service in World War II, but where he served is unclear. He wed Alexine Catherine Rothschild during his training. After his World War II service, he returned to Kokomo and was the city’s first Black postal carrier, a job he performed for more than 40 years. In 1968, he was elected to the Kokomo School Board as the board’s first African American member. He also served on the board of directors of the Carver Center. Gordon Morgan died in 1994.
